CEO Message

With the aim of promoting a circular economy,

Our company was founded in 1976 as a specialized business for recycling rechargeable batteries, stemming from our parent company, Fuyo Kinzoku Co., Ltd., which is engaged in rare metal recycling.

At the time of our establishment, society was experiencing rapid economic growth in Japan, but environmental issues caused by mass production and consumption were becoming increasingly serious.

In response to these challenges, we developed a technology to separate and extract the environmentally burdensome cadmium from the "Nickel Cadmium Batteries," which were representative of rechargeable batteries at that time. Instead of disposing of used rechargeable batteries, we began a business of recycling them as valuable metal resources.

Since then, in tandem with the technological advancements in rechargeable batteries, exemplified by the emergence of "Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries" and "Lithium-Ion batteries," we have continued to develop our metal recycling technology. As a result, we are now able to recycle nearly all major types of rechargeable batteries available today.

In the future, with the growing prevalence of mobile devices and electric vehicles, rechargeable batteries will play an increasingly pivotal role in society.

We will continue to contribute to the advancement of a circular economy through the recycling of used rechargeable batteries.

Sincerely,

Koichi Masuda
CEO
